Is the rear end fluid different from the transmission fluid if so what type and how much? and is the rear axle fluid different again. i am getting mixed views on this and it seemed to drain out as different fluids

It is the same kind of fluid but drains from different compartments, the fluid is hytran fluid and is filled at 3 locations, 1/2 pipe plug on each rear axle and fill through the drip stick tube for the trans. trans holds 68qts and the axles hold 6qts
