How do I check the fluid on the front drive axle of my L185DT? I can see two fill plugs on the top of the axle tubes, one on the right, and one on the left. These are about half way from the center differential out to the wheels. I cannot find any check plug on the sides. There are plugs part way down on each side on the outer drive hub, am I supposed to use these? These two plugs are tough to get at, you really need to remove the wheel to access them. Thanks.

The plugs down on the drive hubs are there to drain the fluid. Typically you'd have check plugs or a dip stick, but this tractor does not have them. The only real way is to eyeball down the hole. The fluid should be just over half to cover the drive components. This is one of those 'innovations' thats come a long away in the last 30-years.
