I'm 78 and it was difficult to remove the deck from the ZD221. Once that was done, installing the belt was a breeze. Remounting the deck was also difficult. Took me a couple of hours overall.

The deck needs to be removed. The tension spring needs to be loosened. The main gear and the mule drive gearboxes need to be freed from the holding brackets to remove the old belt and route the new one around the pulleys and over the drive shaft. Remount the the gear boxes and attach the tension spring and put the safety covers back in place. Reattach the deck, the drive shaft, adjust the mowing height and you are ready to mow!
