It's definitely easier to first remove the fuel filter bowl assembly. I makes both removal of the old pump and the installation of the new pump decidedly easier. Also, take a photograph of the angles of banjo fittings on the top of the pump so that you can replicate those same angles when you transfer the banjo fittings to the new pump.
This part solved my problem. I did not replace the other parts.
