I have an L4310 that the Glow plugs were not working on. I determined the timer, then the controller both were bad. Installed both new, still no glow plug heating. I installed a new $55 temp sensor. Glow plugs came on for 1 second. I unplugged the sensor and Glow plugs worked for 8 seconds and engine started immediately. I looked at the wiring schematic (2 wires from the temp sensor, black and white) and decided to cut the white wire from the temp sensor in the harness and now the Glow plugs work for 8 seconds and the temp gage in the instrument panel work normal also. Engine starts as it should on cold days now, no cranking for 10-15 seconds, it starts immediately.
