Gently clean the destination surfaces where the oil seal will be placed, but don't scratch them or you risk making it so the seal won't seal! Lightly oil the seal to help it go in. Use the old oil seal turned around backwards to help align and seat the new seal with a rubber mallet or similar.

Use the old bearing to seat the seal . I put a light coat of grease on the inside of the seal
