Remove the pins that lock the mower tilt into place there are two of those behind the front cover. Use a jack on the right side to force it up and give you clearance to remove the thread holder bolts. Use a 17 mm socket and remove the two bolts. Take out the pin that holds the crank rod into place. You will need a small pin punch to remove the roll pin that holds the threaded rod onto the crank handle. Remove the roll pin and swapped out the old threaded part. Reverse procedure to complete the install
