Del Morino #42800016 Drive Belt

Inner belt is quite difficult to install. Be sure to retention the belts after running under load. I tried less expensive belts. And I tried a 1/2 inch larger belt to ease installation. Neither alternative worked well. The OEM belt from Messicks works best.

A tire iron and a pipe wrench were the only tools needed (other than the Allen wrench for the belt guard). Started the belt on the small pulley and caught the lip of the large pulley, used the pipe wrench for leverage to spin the pulley and the belt jumped right on. Used the tire iron to move it to the inboard sheave, then repeat and reinstall the cover and tension the belt.

It took longer to remove the cover over the drive shaft. I had to grind off the bolts. Used a screwdriver and a 2’ pipe to turn the shaft enabling the belts to roll on. Insert screwdriver into hole on drive shaft. Really, it took less than a minute to install both belts.
