I disassembled the gear box so I could inspect the gears and bearings. You may be able to replace the seal without disassembly but I wouldn’t recommend it. I put the input shaft assembly in a vise and used a small screwdriver to pry out the old seal. I started the new seal by hand and then used a small wood block to a hammer to tap the new seal into position.
