used a small nail punch to pop out the old seal and packed the new seal with wheel grease completely. Used a 8 inch piece of 3 inch PVC to seat the new seal.

Preparation to change took the most time. I took a chance and swapped out with the seal without draining the hydrostatic fluid. Jacked up the front of tractor. Pinched off the transmission rubber vent tube. Popped the old seal out with a screwdriver, quickly wiped the seal seating area. Then tapped on the new seal with a large socket. Only lost about a pint of fluid. Maybe I was just lucky but it worked great. The new seal sealed great!!

Be aware that seal is undersize, or housing is oversized and seal fit's loose in housing. Used copper coat to help with this.

Grease up the outside and inside the groove of the spring. Also grease the inside where the shaft goes through.
