These are sort of a blind install. Make sure you have the outer beating pressed far enough on to the hub shaft to fully expose the groove that the collars sit in. Seat the collars in the groove, and let gravity be your friend. Once you slide the Drive gear over the collars, hold the assembly together tightly and give it a good shake to make sure the collars don’t come out. On mine, you could also tell the drive gear was fully seated by looking closely at the mating surfaces between the hub shaft and drive gear
