Kubota #70725-34162 Mower Deck Oil Seal

This is the blade-side GREASE seal for the spindles on the Kubota RCK60-32 60" mower deck that you find on the B2601 and others. If you slip a blade, it can easily burn up the seal if it gets too hot and then you will leak grease onto the spindle and it may slip again. Pull off the blade bolt (130) with a 1-3/16" impact socket. Remove the snap ring and pull out the spline boss. Pry old seal out and push in new one gently. If the snap ring doesn't look like it will go on, pry a bit from the top side on the spindle pulley to shove the shaft down towards the blade side. Make sure after you spin a blade, you replace both plate spring washers (110) and probably the dust cover cup (90). lightly sand the blade mounting surface on the spline boss if it is glazed over. Time for seal install only, I did a complete rebuild of all seals, gears, and bearings in the deck gearbox. This job with cleaning and reinstall took about 6 hours. That includes removing the deck, rebuild time and reinstallation time. The only problem I saw was the exploded view of parts is misleading on how and where the bearing goes on the input shaft. Several tools required. This job is not for the faint of heart.
