I took the valve off the tractor and did the work on a bench. The repair took less than 10 minutes. Use grease to keep the ball bearings in place. The most time was taking it off and on the tractor.

The kit doesn't come with instructions but there is a helpful video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J05vSdYn9qE. Once you see the video, things are pretty obvious. But it's much easier to do the work with the valve off the tractor. One problem is that the kit comes with a spacer washer and if yours doesn't have one, or it does and it flies off when the spring releases, it isn't real obvious where it goes. It sits on top of the cup that's closest to the body of the valve to position the spring properly.

Disassemble, tech spool unscrew needle ball holder from spool reinstall new ball holder insert spring insert large ball put in three small balls on sides put the cup over the three balls with the cup tipped at an angle and push the fourth ball in pushing down on the cup and you’re done don’t forget to put on the bottom spacer bolt retainer and you’re done reassemble ,In reverse of disassembly.

I removed the entire valve body and things became very easy. I replaced the 4 small balls with the spool out of the valve and pushed the end cap assembly all the way to engage the detent. That made it far safer to handle the spool than if the spool was inside the valve body. Final assembly was just a matter of reattaching the hoses and bolting the valve to the mounting plate. Hope this helps.

On my BX22, I had to remove the fel, then remove the entire hydraulic control valve. Careful when removing detention cap as there are 4 small and one larger ball bearings in there. Though you do get new ones in the kit. Good YouTube video on setting the new ball bearings in place, bit tricky but doable. Drill small hole 1/16 or 1/8 in bottom cap to let the water out that often gets in there.

No instructions. The ball bearing bolt is often damaged and difficult to extract I ended up using Screwdriver threw ball bearing holes to unthread. When reinstalling lying Greece is needed to hold ball bearings in place while sliding the coupling over them
