Installation Tips
I took the belly mower out and pinched off the fuel line. This made it easy to change the filters.

Like a car, you will need basic tools like a filter wrench, and a pair of needle nose or similar pliers. I use a strap wrench for the spin on filters for the Oil and Hydrostatic Trans fluid. The adjustable strap will work on removing both filters. The needle nose or similar pliers are for loosening the band clamps for both fuel filters. The fuel filters are directional from the fuel tank to the engine. The filters have an arrow on the plastic housing that indicates direction of flow to the engine. There are two fuel filters on my BX tractor. One on the left side of the engine as you sit on it and the other under the floorboard below the driver's seat. The air filter fits one way in the housing and takes just a minute to replace. I have to remove the engine guard from the front of the tractor and the panel that covers the engine below the hood to get to the front fuel filter for replacement. That adds a few minutes to the install. The engine side cover is fastened by two threaded bolts with a plastic turn knob under the engine hood that will release the cover that can then be slid forward and off the front of the tractor. When replacing the side cover it needs to be replaced as it was removed by sliding it forward from the front into channels on both sides of the engine housing. The engine cover has attached slides on each side that guide the cover back to its normal position and then is secured by the two turn knobs.
