Like most anything, the first time takes longer. I highly recommend getting a bearing puller before attempting this if you don’t already have one. My BX2816 was heavily rusted after only a few years. I decided to scrape and paint while it was torn down as it was much easier to do well well, maybe something to consider.

Installation of the fan requires removal of the bearing and coupler assembly which were subsequently ordered as well. The factory installation of that bearing in coupler is extremely difficult to remove and can't be done under normal circumstances or even banging with a hammer. The removal of that coupling and bearing requires a bearing puller to be utilized, but there is no bearing puller that can get behind the housing to get behind the bearing and actually pull it. Removal of that bearing requires a wedge of sorts to force the bearing further down the shaft something in line with a large pickle fork used on tie bolts. Naturally installation is in the reverse but installers would be well advised to lubricate those components much better than the factory or dealer install. Recommend using Valvoline Cobalt heavy equipment Grease
