#K5576-47110 COVER, DISCHARGE

Remove the cotter key and the bar that holds the old chute to remove it. Replace the bar, putting it through the new chute pivot tabs - be sure to put the spring on the bar between the tabs, and be sure the longer end of the spring is over the new chute to fit in the molded slot. The shorter end of the spring must fit in the groove of the deck. The difficult part is to hold the chute with the bar (with the spring in place) going through the second tab - BUT FLUSH WITH THE END. You must have the short end of the spring in the deck slot as you force the bar and chute down until the left end of the bar is aligned so the bar can be driven through the hold in the left deck bracket. Be sure that the spring is properly in place before you replace the cotter key. Otherwise, you have to do it again ... an extra pair of hands is a big help!!
