My HST L3540 was showing the Error 83, Cruise NG and so I ordered this sensor from Messicks. There is a video about replacing this part that removes the whole cruise control assembly by undoing bolts under the rear tire fender. This was not necessary on my L3540. Once you remove the cover for the shift and cruise control levers, the sensor itself is easily removed using a right-angle Philips screwdriver. The screws involved are long and pass through a metal spacer. This spacer is not attached and will fall if you let it. Press down on the release lever on the plug, pull it and and put the plug on the new sensor. Put the sensor back on the cruise control lever and put it all back together. No more Error 83.
