boil water, heat the seal in the bolling water for a few minutes to allow you to slip it over the piston without damaging the seal.

The seal goes on the piston with the raised part facing the top of the piston. It's not necessary to separate the sleeve from the top. I used a piston ring compressor and tapped the piston in from the bottom.

Spent 30 minutes retrieving the piston out of the unit. There was no seal and piston slid into unit when removed. Oiled piston and seal was hand pressed on.

Just installed this on a Ford 1910 and it was amazingly easy. Piston removal was amazingly simple. I heated the seal in hot water and it slipped on the piston with medium effort with the piston resting on a workbench. Big lip of the seal to the front of the tractor and everything was back together in 15 minutes. I replaced the O-rings too but probably didn't need to. These are the two O-rings needed for the job: O RING (SBA052310700) ORING (SBA052300900) No more 3-pt dropping or being jerky... smooth as can be now. I should have done this a year ago!

heat seal in water until temp is 140 degrees, coat piston and seal with hydraulic fluid, hold piston in vise, press seal in groove on one side and continue pressing with thumbs to go over the top.

Used plastic bicycle tire levers and WD40 to pop the ring on. The side with wider lip should be installed facing toward front of tractor. Lift 3pt arms slightly to reinstall cylinder.

Have something to keep the lifting arms from falling down all the way. They will need to be somewhere in the middle to allow the parts to go back together. Or have another person lift the arms when putting the unit back into the tractor.

Make sure nothing is hooked to 3 point. Only have one chance to install correctly so make sure to have seal lip facing front of tractor. Also order the o rings for the cylinder cover
