I say 15 to 20 minutes if you're not familiar with how the function of this item works. It is very easy to use key things to remember. There's a red clip. Must remove that. Push the hose into the barrel till it stops and then pull out it unhooks it. Change your part or rehooking the line you install the red clip on the hose and the male end and then insert it back in there. Shove it in and then pull on it to make sure it has gotten a secure connection and that's all really. Reason I needed a new female in. I did not put the red clap pack on the hose end or the male and I use the same process as taking it out. I bottomed it out in there and pulled it back. Thought it had captured inside and stuck the red clip on. I then started the machine and started to put pressure into the line and it blowed out and blew the internal parts out of the female catch dogs out of the female end. This was why I had to get a new one. So very simple to remove. Take the red clip off, push the hose into the barrel or the female jacket and then pull it out. Do what you need to do. Reinstall the red clip back on the male part where it belongs and then shove it back in the receiver and give it a good pull on it to see that it captured inside and go about your business. Job is done ????
