Changed the rear hydraulic oil and filter on my Steiner 450 mower. Much easier with the mower being backed up onto ramps due to the very limited clearance on the machine. The rear skid plate is tricky to remove and quite heavy, no pics or instructions in the Steiner manual, there are 7 bolts to be removed to remove the skid plate. The drain plug is a 1/4inch allen head bolt as it the vent screw at the top of the transaxle. Fill oil slowly, with vent plug partially open, and fill the new filter with about .8 quarts of hyd oil,prior to install.
