I left the cylinder attached to dismantle them, that way there was something holding the ends for me. The caps can be a pain to take off. I bent my 2 foot pipe wrench with a 4 foot cheater pipe trying to remove them. To knock them loose I beat on them the whole way around with a hammer. After that they turned right off. Then I disconnected the rod end and slid it out of the barrel, leaving the barrel and all of the hydraulic lines attached to the tractor. Then I reattached the rod end so that the tractor held it while I removed the gland nut. The gland will seem pressed on because of the inside oring, to remove it either use the end cap as a slide hammer or hit it with a plastic dead blow hammer. From there I replaced all of the orings making sure to coat them with oring lubricant. Putting the outer gland seal (yellow) on can be a real pain. You have to seat the one side in the groove then use a small screwdriver to pry between the gland and it to stretch it over. It can be a workout for the fingers, but it will stretch enough to slide over the gland. From there reassemble in reverse order using a dead blow hammer to seat the gland onto the rod and then to seat the rod in far enough in the barrel to put the cap back on. I rebuilt all 4 cylinder in about 2.5 hours.
