Seal kept getting crooked in the hole while trying to install. Found a PVC glue-on pipe collar that fit around the seal lip. used a grinder to taper the outside edge of the collar so it would go into the input gear without binding. Remove the seal lip spring for installation of the seal and re-installed the spring afterward. Used the collar and a hydraulic press to finally install the seal without it tilting to one side. I ruined the first seal, which is why I had to search for a better way and eventually came up with the modified pipe collar.
