Kubota KXO33-4 Compact Excavator Walk Around & Review

This model here replaces the prior model which we're lucky enough to have side by side, the KX91. Join me here as we walk around and we’ll point out a couple of new differences on this updated model. The KX91 has been a really popular model for us. We stock quite a few of them both for customers and for our own rental fleet. One of the things that’s made this machine so popular is that this is the heaviest Kubota excavator that we can sell that can fit onto a 10,000 pound trailer.

Kubota M5L-111 Overview and Walk-Around

One of the things you cannot miss about this machine is the profile of it. You can see as I stand here beside it, this is a much lower tractor that you typically would find in a 111 horsepower machine. You can also notice the huge set of tires that are on this machine here in the front and the back. These tractors are typically sold into two unique applications a one that is in the orchards where they need a load machine to get underneath the low branches and also into poultry and chicken houses where they're typically dealing with lower height rubes, they need a high horsepower machine that they can fit inside the barn.

Small horse farms, small dairy operations, landowners with ten or more acres for the most part.

Kubota M5-111 LP and B2650 (Customer Testimonial)

As you can see we've been Kubota customers for quite a while. Here's our older 3430 we use. For smaller tasks, we have smaller implements to use like this wash rig. We don't need a lot of horsepower, 35 horsepower range. It works great around the farm.

Kubota M5660 Walk Around and Review

We're here today with a Kubota M5660 Utility Tractor. Hard to imagine now but we've been doing tractor walk-arounds for almost a year and we're still not the whole way through the product line. Kubota BX25D VS. Kubota BX23s

I know you guys are going to start to think of us a little bit as the Kubota BX site and, you know, a little bit of that can be explained in the importance that this product line is to us. Our dealership literally sells nearly a BX series tractor every day. We sold over 250 of these machines last year and our customers couldn't be happier. It is the highest volume single product that our dealership has it's subcompact tractors. Reading through the comments that a lot of guys have left on our videos in the past.

Kubota BX23s BT603 Backhoe removal

I’m going to take a quick trip through the process here of taking the backhoe off of the new BX23s tractor loader backhoe. This backhoe was fairly similar to tractors that they’ve had in years gone past but there’s one significant difference in the way that the backhoe releases from the tractor here that we want to detail. You come right over here with me and look down here underneath the fender. Most backhoe is usually pin onto the back of the tractor and in the case of this machine. This is a little bit different.

Shady Internet Tractor Package Deals

It's Thursday. We're going to put three minutes on the clock down here, and answer the question for you today, why are internet package deals for tractors a bit of a scam?

The WORST MISTAKE a new tractor owner can make (modding ROPS)

‚ÄčOne of the most cringe-inducing things that we see a new tractor owner do is to modify their roll bar in some way. Oftentimes, guys get the idea that they want to put lights up on the ROPS or a nice bright light bar across the top or put a toolbox or something back around the side over here. People can come up with all kinds of things that they would like to attach onto this structure.

Guys always seem to be interested at the equipment that we choose to use ourselves. We actually use the R530 wheel loader at our different locations for loading and unloading trucks.

And show you some of the two pros and cons of the different coupler systems that you can have between your buckets and your excavators. So the coupler that you'll typically find on most excavators is a traditional mechanical coupler.

We're going to spend some time on this one and hopefully be able to give you a little bit of information it might be hard to come by when flipping through a piece of literature.

Kubota BV4160 Round Baler Walk Around and Review

Back in 2012, Kubota purchased a Kverneland Group, which we primarily knew here in the US as Vicon. Those pieces were sold as Vicon and, also, under a whole bunch of different manufacturers, painted different colors, but Kubota is now the owner of that company, the owner of all that technology and assets. Hay rakes, tedders, disc mowers, those kinds of things, you will see a lot of commonality with Vicon equipment. However, the baler is different.

Kubota BX25D Tractor Loader Backhoe Overview

This is the most popular Tractor that our dealership sells. Last year we sold 196 of these guys. We were hoping for four more to hit the 200 mark, but it didn't just come together. It looks like this year we are on track to do that actually. Sales for this product are very, very strong. It's a very popular tractor for us. Let's do a quick walk around here we'll show you why it's the top selling subcompact tractor of the entire last decade.

How to Remove a Kubota BX Series Loader

One of the best features that we have on these loaders when you lift them up and down is the ability to go and keep the bucket level as the loader goes up and down. You'll notice that a lot of lesser tractors and lesser loaders, it's very difficult to do this function smoothly and you'll see something like this when the loader goes up and then the bucket moves, and then the loader goes up and then the bucket moves. Kubota does a really good job in the way they plumb these valves and making stroking multiple functions really easy in simple operation and that's just not the case even in a lot of other leading tractors out there.

Kubota BX25 Operation and Overview

Today we're going to do a short review on the Kubota BX25 Sub-Compact Tractor. Kubota BX Loader Backhoe Challenge

watch our staff race to see who can install and uninstall a loader and backhoe the fastest.

Why does my tractor have two fuel filters.

This is a common question that we get both in the parts and service departments. The answer is quite simple. Many machines have small electric inline fuel pumps to raise the fuel to the engine and help provide a chance that a diesel may self prime if run out of fuel. The first filter protects this electric pump, the 2nd protects the engines fuel injectors if that pump happens to fall appart.

Checking Hydraulic Fluids

Summary: Some hydraulic oils, particularly Kubota Super UDT, can be really hard to see on the dip stick. Its best to check the level with your finger and then wipe off the stick using a white cloth to check for any discoloration.

Front: 149.2 – 179.0 N-m (110 – 132 ft-lbs.)
Rear: 108.5 – 130.2 N-m (80 – 96 ft-lbs.)

This is especially important on a new tractor.

Kubota BX Brakes and Belts

Adjusting the Brake Pedal

Brake pedal free travel should be 1 - 1.4” (25 – 35mm).
Free travel is the distance that the pedal travels from resting state to a fully depressed state.

  1. Make sure that engine is off, lower all implements to the ground, and block wheels from moving.

  2. Disengage parking brake.

  3. Loosen RH lock nut and extend RH turnbuckle to end of thread.

  4. Loosen LH lock nut and dturn LH turnbuckle to change the LH rod length so brake pedal free travel is 0.8” (20mm).

  5. Tighten LH lock nut.

  6. Change RH rod length so brake pedal free travel is 0.4” (10mm).

  7. Extend RH turnbuckle one more turn.

  8. Tighten RH lock nut.

  9. Pump brake pedal several time to check distance of free travel.

Kubota BX-Bleed Fuel System

How to Bleed Your Kubota BX-Series Fuel System

Bleeding the fuel system will purge air from from the fuel line so the engine can draw it in. Older tractors use a bleeder valve system to accomplish this. The BX-Kubota's use a small fuel pump to deliver fuel to the engine.

When system needs to be bled:

  1. When fuel filter or fuel lines have been disconnected or removed

  2. When the fuel tank is completely empty

  3. Before using the tractor if it has not been operated for an extended period of time

How to bleed the fuel system:

  1. Fill fuel tank

  2. Turn key to “On” position for about 30 seconds. (Allows fuel pump to purge air from system)

  3. Start engine and let it run for about 30 seconds, then turn it off.

Kubota BX-Series 50 Hr Service

Servicing Your BX-Series Tractor (Oils, Filters, Etc.)

Whenever you are doing any kind of service make sure that engine is stopped.

Changing the Oil:

  1. Remove drain plug from bottom of the engine while engine is still somewhat warm (allow plenty of time for engine to cool down) to drain oil into oil pan.

  2. Put drain plug back in when oil has drained

  3. Fill with new oil to the higher groove of the dipstick.

Oil Capacity – 3.3 quarts (3.1 liters)

Cleaning the Air Filter:
  1. Remove air cleaner cover by undoing the hook and then rotating the cover clockwise to take it off.

  2. Cleaning the filter:

-If filter only contains dust: Blow compressed air (under 30psi, 205kPa, 2.1kgf/cm2) from the inside of the filter to clean it.

-If filter contains carbon or oil: Soak filter in detergent for 15 minutes, wash and    rinse with water and let it air dry. When filter has completely dried, use a light to check for damage.

  3. Reinstall air cleaner cover (make sure that arrows are properly aligned).

Replace air filter yearly, or after every 6th cleaning, whichever comes first.

Also make sure evacuator valve is not blocked.

Evacuator valve should be opened once a week, or daily when used in a dusty place in order to get rid of larger dust particles.

Checking Fuel Lines and Fuel Filter

Before inspection: Make sure that a clean plug is inserted into the fuel line when it is disconnected so dirt does not get into the fuel line.

  1. Inspect fuel lines and pipe clamps for damage or deterioration. Replace them if damaged.

  2. Check to see if fuel filter either is clogged, or contains water. If either is true replace it.

Note: Check fuel lines annually or after every 100 hours of use, whichever comes first.

If you are removing the fuel line, make sure to bleed the system. (How to bleed fuel system)
