BX1880 / BX2380 / BX2680 Owner Service Guide

The BX2812A is a 60-inch hydraulically angled front blade that mounts on the BX2810 front hitch. It needs grease at the pivots, oil on the moving parts and regular checks of the hardware and hydraulic hoses. If the blade is used less than 20 hours a year, do all of the maintenance at least once a year, after each storage period and after each wash.

Warning. Lower the blade to the ground, stop the engine, set the parking brake and remove the key before working on it. Relieve hydraulic pressure before disconnecting hoses.

Lubrication

Grease the center pivot and both ends of the angling cylinder every 20 hours with a Moly EP grease. Oil the other moving parts, including the inside of the trip spring nut, with chainsaw bar oil at the same interval. If a fitting will not take grease, replace it with 75599-81521.

Trip springs

If the blade tips forward under normal use, or does not trip when it hits an obstacle, the trip springs need adjusting. Also check that the trip spring lockouts are in the upper holes; in the lower holes they keep the blade from tripping.

Cutting edge

Replace the cutting edge, 70060-03433, when it is worn close to the moldboard. It is held by seven 5/8 x 2 in. bolts, 70001-00803. Replace the bolts with the edge.

Storage

Clean the hitches and blade, make any repairs, replace damaged decals, touch up worn paint and lubricate the pivot pin and cylinder pivots. When it is dry, oil all moving parts and store it in a dry place.
