BX1880 / BX2380 / BX2680 Owner Service Guide

The BX2810 front 4-point hitch and its K-Connect drive carry the BX80 series front implements: the snowblowers, the front blades and the rotary broom. The hitch subframe stays on the tractor while implements are changed, so its driveline, bearings and pivots need regular grease. If the hitch is used less than 20 hours a year, do every item at least once a year, after each storage period and after each wash.

IntervalGrease the telescopic joint and flange bearings every 20 hours, the driveline crosses every 40 hours. Check hardware after the first 8 hours, then every 40 hours.
Time20 minutes
ToolsGrease gun, socket set, torque wrench
GreaseLithium EP grease, NLGI No. 2, with no more than 1% molybdenum disulfide

The front-mount attachments that run on this hitch are shown in our video:

Greasing

To reach the K-Connect driveline, remove the driveline guard from the male hitch. It is held by four bolts and flat washers. Grease the telescopic joint, the journal crosses and the two flange bearings, then reinstall the guard. If a fitting will not take grease, replace it with 75599-81521. If a journal cross is loose or rough, replace it with 70060-02335. The complete fixed driveline is 70060-02186, and the 8 in. center-to-center driveline is 77700-06666.

Connecting and storage

Before connecting an implement, make sure the engagement shafts and hitch connection points are clean and free of snow and ice. If the engagement lever grinds or is hard to move, clean and lubricate the drive mechanism. In very cold weather, grease the telescopic joint and the sliding pins.

Mounting a snowblower on the quick hitch, including the hydraulic hoses, the mid-PTO shaft and the parking stand adjustment, is shown in our video:

Before storing the subframe, clean it, make any repairs, replace damaged safety decals, touch up worn paint, lubricate it and oil the moving parts. Store it in a dry place.
