BX1880 / BX2380 / BX2680 Owner Service Guide

The electrical system is protected by blade-type mini fuses and one 50 A slow-blow fuse. A blown fuse means there is an overload or a short somewhere in that circuit. Before replacing a blown fuse, find out why it blew and repair the cause.

Identifying your fuse box

The fuse boxes are in the battery compartment beside the battery. BX tractors have been built with three fuse box layouts:

  • Type A: one 12-fuse box at the low position, with some empty fuse positions.
  • Type B: one 12-fuse box at the low position, with every position filled.
  • Type C: two 8-fuse boxes at the high position, above the battery.

The slow-blow fuse is a separate plug-in fuse near the fuse box on all three types.

Replacing a fuse

  1. Stop the engine and remove the key.
  2. Type C only: pull out the pin and remove the accelerator cable to open fuse box 2.
  3. Find the fuse for the circuit that has stopped working using the tables below.
  4. Pull the fuse with the fuse puller and look at the metal strip through the clear body. A blown fuse has a broken strip.
  5. Push in a new fuse of the same capacity.
  6. Type C only: close the fuse box and install the accelerator cable with the pin.
  7. Turn the key on and check that the circuit works.

Slow-blow fuse

The 50 A slow-blow fuse protects the electrical system against a wrong battery connection. If it blows, check that the battery cables are on the correct terminals before installing a new one.
